Counting For Legs

Kyle Son, Spring 2021

My game is based on the idea of following dogs and letting them guide the actions of the main player. This was inspired from my derive in class that one day. The character is essentially autobiographical and is also located in Brooklyn. I first recorded my entire derive on otter.ai and used that as my main source of inspiration and ideation. From that transcript I would use CharNG to influence some of the options and choices made in the game. Through the anagram generator, I came up with my title. Googlism was more so used as a mood board for options and narrative decisions. My game deals with dog breeds and to choose the breeds, I crowdsourced from my roommates. And finally, the oblique strategies I got were allow an easement (which is my just go back to sleep option), give way to your worst impulse (pet the dog into submission option), reverse (turn back option), change nothing and continue with immaculate consistency (stay faithful to the true story inspiration), and accept advice (which I asked my roommate if I needed to add anything to the game).
